Siahne is an artist from Boorloo Perth

Western Australia.

Often driven by a desire to encourage openness and play, her practice is defined by methods in sculpture, performance and video, moving between mediums to create socially-engaged works, gestural objects and interactive installations. From public art to public acts of tomfoolery, Rogers interrogates the dynamic space where sculpture becomes performance and performance becomes sculpture.

Informed by a background in cabaret and circus, and drawing from their parallel role as an arts educator, Roger's practice allows them to explore the slippery relationship between humour, tragedy and meaning-making found throughout narratives on lived experience and everyday life. Through this, Siahne's broad approach to creating tries to understand how we inhabit and interact with our perceptions of time, objects, and each other - creating opportunities for an embodied learning where the engagement becomes a form of making.
